As some of you know by now viewing my Facebook and Twitter posts, I recently joined Al Gore's Climate Reality Project as a Climate Reality Leader. I took the training in July with around 10,000 others from all over the world. We had to attend nine days of online virtual training sessions and commit to performing 10 Acts Of Leadership over the next few months to remain in good standing. I must say, this training on our Climate Crisis was an eye opener, very informative and in spite of all the harm we have done to our planet there is hope and proof we can all stop and reverse the damage we have done. It will take the complete elimination of all fossil fuel industries by 2050 and the use of 100% Clean Energy from Wind, Solar and other sources of electric power which we are well on our way to achieving. I hope everyone does what they can to help save our planet.

So, you might wonder what does this all have to do with my science fiction writing? The best answer I can give is the Climate Crisis we are experiencing is the background theme I used throughout my UTOPIAS Dystopian Series. I started writing the series several years ago and recently published Book 0, Climate Crisis as a prequel story for the series. By this time the Climate Crisis has produced catastrophic weather related events and the rise of CO2 levels above 415 ppm. We need to reduce this level back down to 350 ppm to maintain our environment at human existence levels. If we fail to do this, the world's Sixth Major Extinction Level Event will become inevitable.
